I knew that beginning this journey toward improving my cleaning and organizational skills would not be easy. To improve the process, I’m bringing a few “friends” along for support.
I was able to pick up a used paperback copy of the book “The New Messies Manual” by Sandra Felton at the local library’s used book sale. It is helping me learn how to plan out the cleaning process and keep track of tasks that are already completed.
It is no secret that I am a major fan of Ruth Soukup and her blog. She is full of understanding and common sense, and her article on “speed cleaning ” has helped me immensely. Too often, I look at a mess and imagine that it will take 20 minutes to clean up, when it would really only take two minutes. If I tell myself that I only have to clean for a set number of minutes, I am far more likely to tackle the mess.
That’s it for now. The house is looking better. Still messy…………but better!
